PRIZES
Apart from the sole participation at the international competition - which are essentially only 4 students each year - the Friends of the Chemistry Olympiad e.V. (FChO) organize attractive prizes and activities around the selection process.
- regional seminars: In cooperation with universities and industry, students of the second selection round are invited to regional seminars on a federal state basis. There they get the chance to meet like-minded students and to foster their interest in chemistry
- short-term internships: Participants of the third round may apply for a two week internship in an university research group, research institute or company in their desired field of chemistry
- The Nobel Laureate Meetings at Lindau: Two students of the third round get the privilege to be accepted to the annual Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings.
- Workshop of the FChO: Once a year the FChO organizes a 3-day scientific workshop. The students of the fourth selection round receive a workshop stipend.
- internships abroad: The 3 best students just after the 4 team members are able to do an internship of 2-4 weeks at renowned universities abroad: Nashville (USA), Zurich, Oxford, Gothenburg and Copenhagen have been targets in the past.
- Fellow of the German National Foundation: The 4 team members are admitted to the German National Foundation which means that they receive a stipend alongside a rich intellectual support during their upcoming university studies.
