Providing a platform for high school, academia, and industry

The FChO provides a lively network between high school, academia and industry. Part of this mission is to bring chemists of all ages and directions together. Our annual member's workshop is intended to discuss current research topics, and to stimulate exchange of thoughts during a variety of social activities.

Chemistry for everyone

In cooperation with teachers, federal education ministries, trusts, and industry, we are able to offer a framework to spur interest in chemistry at an early age. Teenagers are invited to explore the fantastic world of chemistry through means of experimental competitions.

Foster vocation

Talented senior high school students that are willing to face the challenges of participating in the Chemistry Olympiad are encouraged by the Friends of the Chemistry Olympiad (FChO). A multitude of FChO projects accompanying the national selection are intended to honour the students' achievements and to broaden their interest and knowledge.

An active association

Members of the Friends of the Chemistry Olympiad gain a lot from their membership: our annual journal (in German only) informs about events and trends, our online forum brings people together, and the annual workshop is not to miss.
